What a Wonderful Day!

Well - the wedding went off without a hitch! We had great weather, the location was superb, the food was exquisite and we partied long into the night with the coolest band around 'Dubdoubt'. Thanks to everyone for your gifts and well wishes. We are now on our honeymoon up in Cairns and loving it!

Unfortunately, this blog is now redundant but may morph into ' The Joy of Marriage' blog or ' We're having triplets!' or something like as our journey continues but in the mean time its "over and out'! XXOO The duggans

Water Sports

There's no particular reason for this photo other than the fact it is Leo and funny. If anyone is keen to go skiiing, wakeboarding, skurfing, kneeboarding, parasailing or drink-surf waking see Duncan from Dingo Beach Water Sports. He's the guy picking everyone up from the airport.

Note to People getting Transfers from Airport

1. The airport is called the Whitsunday Coast airport but is also called the Proserpine airport so don't let the airlines confuse you.
2. Look out for the Dingo Beach Water Sports bus outside the airport. A bloke called Duncan will be picking you up. He may even have a sign saying ' Duggan-Hartley Wedding' or ' Free food and alcohol' or something like that.
See ya soon

Directions to Montes.....Two Weeks to Go!!!

Hi everyone! Most of you will be picked up from the airport by Duncan from Dingo Beach Watersports when you arrive but for those of you who are driving - here's some directions:
1. The turn off to the resort (sorry there are no signs for Montes) is 11 km north of Proserpine on your right on the Bruce Hwy. The road you turn into is called Gregory Cannon Valley Rd and after travelling approx 600m turn left into Gregory River Rd.
2. You then have to turn left again after 800m into Dingo Beach Rd. Continue along this road (don't go all the way into Dingo Beach) until you see the signs for Hydeaway Bay and turn left into Hydeaway Drive (don't panic there is approx 7km of unsealed road). You'll need to follow this road through Hydeaway Bay along the coast to where the bitumen ends. You should have a glorious view of the bay and a sign for Montes. This is the start of the road in for Montes.
3. It'll be a little rough in some parts but if you follow the signs this road will take you to Montes.
See you there!!!

Picking up at the Airport......

No -nothing about the airport bar or pickup lines. Just putting a post to let guests know that if you arrive on a flight to Whitsunday Coast(Proserpine) airport, we have organised for a transfer for you. Easy hey? It will just cost $25 return (or $12.50 one way) and takes about 30 minutes . Steph will collect it from you on the Friday night when she collects the rest for the accommodation/meals package ($150) for the weekend. 7 weeks to go!!! Ho Ho Ho!

Jammin'

Invitations are coming out next week folks but its really just a formality because we know who is coming and when by now. (The wedding checklist doesn't seem to be getting any shorter though)

Anyway, on Friday the 11th when everyone arrives at Montes, catches up with each other, and let a few brews slide down, we thought that we could have a bit of a jam/song session, so bring an instrument and a song and be ready for your turn. It will be old school karaoke on the beach!

See ya there!

FAQ: What is the cost? Who do we pay?

A lot of people have been asking about the cost of staying at Montes for the weekend with meals, drinks etc. We have organised for Montes to provide all guests with 1 BBQ dinner on the Friday night and a brunch on both Saturday and Sunday morning (so folks don't drink too much ;-)).

Now as far as dollars are concerned, we would ask that everyone contribute $150 per person for the weekend which includes accommodation. Stephanie Hartley (Buzz's super responsible sister and bridesmaid) will collect this from everyone on the Friday night. Thanks!!

Speaking of cash - Montes has limited EFTPOS facilities, so its a good idea to bring some cash for drinks, any extra meals or snacks, or a Montes souvenir tea spoon or tea towel!

Also, if you'd prefer to have a drink back at your cabin patio or on the beach rather than at the bar, Montes will also be selling takeaway alcohol (e.g. carton beer) over-the-bar at special prices. They have requested that guests do not bring alcohol from outside on to the resort premises.

12 weeks to go -invitations coming out soon!

2008: The Countdown Begins!!!

We arrived back from Africa in one piece after an amazing trip to Tanzania (and a quick and nervous dash back and forth to Nairobi airport in Kenya!). The people are beautifully welcoming, the wildlife amazing, and the scenery is breathtaking! In short, it exceeded my expectations. BUT its time to get our feet firmly on the ground as the wedding is only 3 months away and although we thought everything was in hand - we need to do lots more organisation!
Buzz is doing a quick trip to Mackay and Airlie Beach next week to tie up a few loose ends with the venue and caterers -good luck sweetheart! I'm glad its you and not me.
